1. Covenant: a promised to do something.
2. Descendant: a daughter, grandson, or son.
3. Sacrifice: killing a person or animal to honor god.

4. Abraham was born in 2,000 B.C.E.

5. Abraham was originally called Abram.

6. Abraham was born in the city of Ur in Mesopotamia.

7. Everybody else believed in many gods but Abraham believed in one true god.

8. God covenant that he would make Abraham the father of a great nation people.

9. Abraham is the father of the Hebrews because they descended from Abraham.

10. God ask Abraham to sacrifice his only son Isaac.

11. God sent a angel to stop Abraham from killing his son because Abraham was faithful.

Temple: usually initial capital letter) any of the three successive houses of worship in Jerusalem in use by the Jews in Biblical times, the first built by Solomon, the second by Zerubbabel, and the third by Herod.

Resentment: the feeling of displeasure or indignation at some act, remark, person, etc., regarded as causing injury or insult.


Review:

4. Solomon wanted to build a great temple in Jerusalem to house the Ark of the Covenant.
5. King Solomon takes taxes from his people heavily to build the temple.
6. Some people were angry with Solomon because he forced his people to work on the construction of the temple.
7.Near King Solomon death their resentment exploded. In 931 B.C.E, the northern tribes broke away and became a separate Kingdom of Israel.

Moses


1. Prophet: A person who interprets others.

2. Plague: A disaster sent by god as a punishment.

3. Exodus: the separation of Hebrews from Egypt

4. Ten Commandments: Ten laws that god gave to Moses.

5. Sabbath: One day a week, to use for worship and rest.


6. The pharaoh enslaves the ancient Hebrews because Hebrews “increased in number and became very powerful”. The pharaoh was afraid of them that’s why he made them slaves.

7. Moses convinces the pharaoh, the pharaoh toad that Moses was the one that was killing the first born son on every Egyptian family and the one that killed his son.

8. Moses defeated the Egyptians army by raised his staff, got every one safely to the other side; then the water flooded over them and drown them. God was with them.

9. God tells Moses his ten commandments and Moses engraved them on two stones. tablets.

10. If the ancients Hebrews follow the ten commandments god will protect the .If the don’t follow the ten commandments got will sent them a plague and kill all there sons.

11. He led Hebrews out of Egypt.
He gave Judaism the Ten Commandments.

King Solomon

Taxes- An necessary payment on in comes sales.

Temple- A building for religious worship.

Resentment- To feel anger at somebody.

4 He wanted to make temples to be powerful.

5 It became powerful symbols

6 because Solomon taxed his people to the Hebrews of there faith in heavily to
buy gold cedar wood copper and
7 Near his death their Resenment exploded other material.
