Background: On Monday we will finish chapter 12: Land Conflict in the Amazon. We have been studying about the Amazon's Rainforest importance (bio-diversity, carbon-oxygen cycle), the problems of deforestation, and the people who want to practice sustainable development or not: natives, cattle ranchers, rubber tappers, loggers, settlers and environmental groups.Assign ment Directions:
- You have to write a three-part report on the Amazon Rain-Forest
- First, describe its relative location. Where is it? How many nations share the Amazon Rainforest? What is the biggest city in the Amazon? What are the name of some of its physical features? It must be at least one paragraph long.
- Second, explain why the Amazon Rainforest is important for the environment and economic activity of South America and what deforestation is doing to forest, animals and people who live there. It must be at least one paragraph long.
- Finally, what do you think governments and people can do to practice sustainable development and deescalate (stop or make it smaller) the land conflict. It must be at least one paragraph long.
- A paragraph has at least three completed sentences.
- Write your report on Microsoft Word then copy and paste to the comment section.
- If you do not have Internet at home you can use a public library or make arrangements to use my classroom computer. The assignment is due by Tuesday, December 4th.
- Take your time and look very carefully at the directions. The report is worth 100 points.

The Amazon rain forest is a big part of south America for example it would be very hard to breath in south America because there would be less trees and plants so there would be not enough oxygen for every body and if u kill all the trees all the animals will go down with it . I don’t think we have the right to take the home to the native Americans because they where here much longer before us and they deserve respect . And by cutting down trees every day we are losing 30 unknown species because of the deforestation . My opinion will be if u will cut down a tree there is tax for it and u have to plant the same exact tree back or your fee will not only triple but he/she will have a weak in prison for the cost of the tree. That is what I would do to those people .
I think that the government should put the price on trees like I said before and they should do worst for example they could make more reserves for the Amazon. The government should just put a giant wall around all the trees and then the people who want to cut them down will have to be accompanied by 5 guards of the armies and he will have to show the seeds of the tree he wants to cut down and after he cuts it down he has to replant 5 more not 1 - 5 more .so the forest could grow and south America could have even more oxygen.

The Amazon is located in south America the country’s that share it are Brazil, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, French Guiana, Suriname, Guyana, Venezuela, and Colombia and in Chile, the Amazon physical feature are tropical wet, and temperature rainforest, there are many trees, the biggest city in the Amazon is Manaus.
The Amazon is important because is like the lugs of South America, if the a burn down they are not going to be able to breath well this will have an effect on all of us, because that were 1/3 of our oxygen comes from, the native need there space to live, the people that are burning down the trees are making the forest smaller that is (deforestation) I know if they stop the are not going to have money because that is what they sell.
I think the government should but 4 parts of the forest everyone that wants to cut the tree in one side, the native in the other 2, and to take pictures in 1 of then. The people that wanted to cut the tree most have seed to replant then again.
